SERVICES:
I. Counseling Services:The children's emotional healing begins through crisis intervention the moment they enter the program. Assessed Children for individual counseling will meet with a well trained clinician weekly for an hour session.
Peer Support Group:Children meet weekly to discuss issues related to the mental healing, violence prevention, conflict resolution, and re-traumatization prevention, develop coping skills, share their experiences, and find solution, support and resources.
II. Vocation School Training:
To become self- sufficient economically, as well as socially, we promote and develop entrepreneurial ideas. Street Orphans children learn job skills for a set period of the time and then make liaison with organization/companies in the community. Provide skills to develop a resume/curiculium vita for employment search. We also provide interview preparation skills as well as interpersonal skills.
Trainings: computer training,Agriculture/Farming and Sewing for youth and young adults.We provide basic computer literacy skills because we want to equip them to communicate with the rest the world.
III.SHELTER&CAFETERIAAll assessed Street children 6-16 years old will be sheltered through Kalunga program until they are either re-integrated with identified family members or they are ready to transitioned toward independent living situation. Dorms of 10 rooms. 2 bunker beds each room for total of 40 beds. Food will be provided for them.
IV.Therapeutic Services

Street Children will be engage in the community activities such as singing in choir, painting, gardening to try to rebuild bonds and address their primary concerns. Staff and volunteers will adapt the training curriculum and materials to address the street life and issues among others. Explore pressing issues ( drugs,violence,homelessness, povrety and emotional insecurity) through drama and dancing.

V. HIV/AIDS awarness and prevention:
Life on the street put these children at very high risks. they often become victims of abuses ( sexually, physically, and emotionally). They also become exposure to promiscuous relationships and drugs which makes them susceptible to HIV infection. By providing information around awareness among children concerning HIV/AIDS and the spread of the virus. The program will also run counseling and testing including referral to health care facilities in the area. Workshops,pilot groups and conferences will set up regularly.
Education/Literacy: The CFLC as a Center will provide classes on every level to combate iliteracy among street children. Many of them never went to school and cannot read and write.There will be a transition from one level to another and then teach them life skills that will be useful to embrace the independent and self-sufficient life. It is our goal that each street children become more equipped to meet challengers and responsibilities with conviction, dignity,and high confidence.
Referral Services:
Children will be referred to services such as health care, eye care ,dental and general health care to health agencies in the community. |
